Thanks for commenting. Yes, for some people have capacity for nuance but don't choose it. I believe it's always somewhere connected to power and/or control. Identity is a form of power, whether internal or external, which can be very difficult to loosen. And I agree, consent is certainly not resignation. In the same way that discipline brings freedom, so consent can also liberate when done with awareness and non grasping.
